One of Princess E's favorite times at preschool is when they get to go on field trips. So far this year they have been to the Dentist and yesterday they went to the fire station. It was a fun little trip and she was braver than the last time we went. Maybe because it wasn't all new to her. 
All the kids had a great time when the fire man drove out the fire truck and explained some of the the things on it.
Then all the kids got to get inside if they wanted to. I was so proud of both of them. they both got right in line and climbed inside.

We did decide that we need to have a FHE on fire safety here in our home and practice fire drills and what we need to do. Also where our meeting place is. The fire fighter told us a story of a call he went on, about 12 years ago, where the mother tripped on one of her children as she was going to wake them all up in the middle of the night, because the child was on her hands and knees crawling down the hallway just like they had practiced earlier that day.

Pre-school field trips are the best! So far Lincoln has been to the huge library here... tomorrow they are going to a supermarket. They just had a fireman come to their class today... they learned all about smoke detectors. He's been telling us all about it all day today! How fun that you got to go with them... I guess that's one bad thing about naptime during pre-school... i'll never be able to go.
