There was a new sign on the girls bedroom door this morning. Made me smile. :)

More Flags, More Fun!
A few months ago a new add campaign started here in GA. Along with the ads began this phrase that was heard in very single prayer that Princess M would say. "please bless us to go to Six Flags tomorrow." (which incidentally replaced both, bless us to go to Lagoon and to the Beach.)
So after grandpa and aunt Nan heard this prayer for a week, grandpa suggested we go on their last day here. He remembered how much they had enjoyed Lagoon last summer and I think he wanted to be the answer to her fervent prayer. :)
It was a really fun day. Extremely hot, but fun. I must say though that Six Flags definitely is more geared for adults/teens. They had kiddie rides, but very few of them. And Princess M was barely tall enough for most. But I am sure we will go again and make the most of it.

Fruit Salad, Yummy Yummy
I have found another reason why I am loving living in the South.
Being closer to where all the fruit growers are makes it so you can
get really good, really cheap produce.
I did our regular grocery shop this week and I get almost giddy when I look in the fridge and see and get to enjoy the plethora of goodness and color that is in there.
I didn't spend very much at all, and I think I have more varieties of fresh fruit in my fridge at the same time than I ever have in the past, and it is delicious!
Cherries, strawberries, blueberries, oranges, peaches, plums, nectarines, banana's, and apples.
(Now to just get that dang song out of my head. :)

If a wood chuck could chuck wood...
.....He would make shelves. :)
We just had an incredible week with my Dad and my sister here to visit.
We have a big storage room that was very lacking in the shelve department. On one end of the room there were some. But they were way over done. Probably to hold car parts or something. Anyway, somehow we twisted my dads arm into coming out and helping us make better use of the space in the room.
First off, my dad is the best! I don't think I told him that enough growing up. He is so talented in so many ways. Especially in the handyman area. I have always admired that skill of his. Also, he is honestly the most hard working person I have EVER known. He is in his 50's and still works circles around King J and I. There was a point where he and I had been down working on the shelves all day long and I could hardly move. When we came up to get get ready for dinner I saw a huge basket of laundry on the couch and I said, "well I forgot about that. It is going to have to wait for another day. I just can't do it tonight. " To which he replied, "Oh you go get in the shower. I will take care of it" and he did. He is just the greatest!
We started our big project by ripping out the old shelves so we could use the lumber in a better way and to cut down on the cost of what we needed to buy as well as construct something better in their place. Then it was decided to hang sheet rock on the half of the room that was missing it. Then we were just about constructing them. 4 days later and I couldn't be happier with the end result. The princesses even helped and thought it was awfully fun to fill their buckets with the "fairy" dust and sprinkle it all around the yard.
Now I just have to get them filled back up with our years supply. A task that I greatly enjoy.
Thanks again Dad. You are the best!

We have a first grader now!
Wow! Has the year already passed since I was worried about my little girl being gone all day for full day kindergarten?
Last week we were lucky enough to attend princess E's kindergarten graduation, and boy was this mama emotional. I can hardly believe she is this big!
We started out the morning by gathering in her class room for breakfast and for her and her class mates to receive the classroom awards and to watch a slide show from the year.
Princess E was given the award of, "Most Cheerful" by her class mates. She also received an award for reading and got a ticket to Six Flags. We then moved into the gym where the principal introduced all 11 of the kindergarten teachers and then they gave out the attendance awards. Of which princess E received the silver award for less than 5 absences for the year (2 to be exact). Then there was a program of songs that they had learned in music class that year. It really was a great morning and we were beaming parents.
In the slide show below, there is a picture from the first day of school, the day of graduation, her teacher in green and the para pro in black. Then there is a picture down the K hall. Their school is seriously as big as my high school was. Her class room was at the very end of that hallway. Then the last picture is just a 1/4 of the kindergartners in the gym. As I mentioned, there were 11 classes all with 16-17 kids each.
We love you Princess E and are excited to start first in the fall!

Family time
We had fun checking out the Imagine It discovery museum in Atlanta a few weeks ago. It was a good thing it was the free day though because we were a little bit disappointed. After being to a few other really great discovery museums it was kinda like this one was just thrown together. But we still had a fun time together as a family.
We will more than likely check it out again on another free day.
