She's growing up

Today I am taking princess E to get her first stick of deodorant and face wash and a new haircut.  She is beyond excited.  Could hardly sleep last night.

I decided it was time to take this step after she has had a few little pimples here and there and she has begun to have a little funk.  That along with the fact that she is very eager to take care of herself I decided to jump on it and start her in those habits now.

But, I am also a little sad that this day has come.  Hopefully I still have a few more years before we go shopping for her first bra and the other growing up things.

Memorial Day and July 4th 2011

I combined both of these posts because, well I didn't take any pictures of these activities on the 4th.  But we did the water balloon volleyball and slip-n-slide for both.  We also played dodge ball, boys against girls with most of the balloons but I didn't get any pictures of that.
It was SO much fun being outside all together as a family.  We love to play games when we are with King J's fam, but it is usually cards or board games.  It was nice to change it up a bit and we had a blast.  Even though the temperatures were up there.
They set up the slip-n-slide right by the ditch and it kindof became a game to see who would go the farthest.  I think uncle Kevin won the prize.  On the 4th, they used a big tarp, soap and a sprinkler.  That made the challenge even better.  Uncle Keith won that one, going almost a whole other length off of the tarp with his slides.

Thanks for a fun few holidays and great memories.

4th of July Funnies

Sitting outside watching all the big kids slip and slide, we were hearing the chickens across the street.  Princess M said she wanted to go over there to see them.  Someone said, "What about the rooster?"  She replied, "I am going to go over there and see them, and he messes with me I'm gonna make him pay!  And then I will give you all the money mom!"  We were rolling.

Later that night when we were watching the fireworks, it was quiet and a big one went off.  We hear, "That one looked like a wiener!"  and a few seconds later she finished"......dog."  We all were laughing and she replied "I mean a hot dog."
