I don't think there are cuter rollerskating girl scouts in the world. Princess M's troop were all going to meet at the local roller rink for $1 night and earn a badge. It has been decades since I had been so I thought what a fun night. I think every other tween and teen in the region thought the same thing. Boy have things changed since I was that age. These 2 ended up being the only girl scouts that showed up. But they had a great time anyway until Princess E took a fall and didn't want to do anymore. I only made it out onto the rink 1 time and decided I was better off in shoes. The corner by the lockers that was carpeted was more our style. :)
I love these 2 little ladies!

Work Party
We started our summer with a bang this year. The Saturday after school let out, King J's work had their annual summer party at a local lake that also has a water park. The morning was spent doing games and raffles and then the after lunch we all got tickets to the water park. It was SO much fun. We hope they do it again next year.
They are always mindful of those who have kids and have plenty of fun things for them to do. They played these games and earned tickets for loads of fun prizes.
The wave pool was a HUGE hit with these girls. We found out we have a big dare devil in Princess M, while Princess E is MUCH more cautious. We couldn't keep Princess M off of the slides. She was barely tall enough but man oh man did she love it. There were a few that I was even nervous about, she would come off of it hootin and hollering asking to go again. I was very proud of her. Too bad she is still to short for the dinky little slide at the local Y where we spend most of our days in the summer. Maybe next year.

Field Day/End of year pics
So, you all know from the history of this blog that I am horrible at keeping it up. (hangs head in shame) But better late than never right? :) In an effort to catch myself up (if that's even possible) I am doing a few compilation posts. This one has the end of year pictures of the girls at school. With their teachers, best friends and a few great ones from Field day.
A day on the Farm
One day this summer we, with a few other families in our ward went to the home of a sister in our ward who has a little farm, mostly horses, and had a little fun. The girls had a ball.
Princess M was especially excited over it all. They also spent a large majority of their time leashing up the dogs and taking them for a run.
She was standing on the steps facing every one and she sensed something by her head and turned, LOL the horse was right there. Scared the crud out of her. She just laughed though.
A highlight was feeding them carrots and apples.
This sweet sister said that she has been thinking of doing a horse camp in the summers. I think we will be looking into it if she does it next summer. The girls were in heaven!

Cloud 9
There are a few things that a husband can say to his wife that will put her over the moon and really make her feel good. I had one of those moments last night.
I don't wear my hair down much in the summer. See I sweat. BAD. Long hair just doesn't work with me in the summer with the heat, hormones and overactive sweat glands. So it is always up. Not that I like the way I look with it up. It is just out of necessity. So when I wear it down, he notices.
We were getting ready to go to the adult session of stake conference and I wasn't feeling heated so I decided to pull out the hot rollers for something different. I got ready and came out of the bathroom. Not feeling much different than I usually do when I get ready in a dress for a meeting and take a little time for myself.
Princess E noticed first and said, "Mom you look so pretty!" Nice boost to the confidence. I came into the front room and King J stopped his video game cold and it was as if it was one of those moments in the cartoons when his jaw was on the floor and his eyes jumped out of his head and he said to me, "WOW you look gorgeous!!" I can't remember another time, ever, where he has told me I was gorgeous. And I wasn't even trying really.
Needless to say, it made my night and even today. I love you babe! Thanks for making me feel pretty!
